Our Program
We, at Mission Hills High School, use John Vandenburgh's model of the PLUS program. He is the visionary and we are lucky enough to have him in close proximity help us establish our program in San Marcos, CA. We believe that it is based upon the idea that if individuals make changes, then the world changes, thus our motto from Ghandi: "Be the Change that you wish to see in the world." We hold a variety of "events" to bring people together who have differing opinions, beliefs, and illustrate that we are all the same and hopefully lead to friendships and at least understanding and acceptance. The program is completely student run, though thoroughly trained by adults.
Who we are
We pride ourselves on being a widerange of students. We are diverse in cultures, backgrounds, abilities, athletically, academically, and more. We have many athletes, members of other clubs, AVID students, students whose only school participation is with our program. We want our team to be able to reach into every aspect of school life and to be able to be truly effective, we need a representative of all possible groups on campus. As our program has matured we are getting closer and closer to that goal.
The Class
We are extremely fortunate to have a class this year, in order to properly train our leaders. Since, we have such a diverse group of team members, it is extremely difficult to practice for our forums, without a class period. Our leaders have made so many great strides this year and their participation in the class was vital to that success.
the club
For team leaders who are not able to be in the class, the club still does forums and participates in all activities, but usually does not have as large of role as those in class, due to their intensive training times and activities. Club members have been essential to our Lunchtime Surveys.

PLUS + TV News = One
We took over the campus news show this year and are trying to unite the school, but involving everyone, incorporating every club, sport, highling everyone possible.
