Recommended Shoes
Shoes are the one real neccesity for an xc athlete. One brand is not necessarily the best, though we like Asics and Saucony. MSRP is usually a good indicator of quality of shoe. Any "running shoe" with msrp over $75 is usually decent. Though a fitting is best. (roadrunner sports, the running center, etc).
(Some runners will wear out a shoe in1 season)
On the Streets
We run throughout the town for training.
1. Need to know the route
(listen + ask)
2. Coaches are constantly monitoring the athletes for intensity of training, pace, injury prevention, and any other safety issue.
(We ask that the athletes follow all the rules above)
Health
Hydration is a key element. Most issues early in the year are related to not drinking enough water. An XC athlete's weight cut in half is the number of ounces they need to drink in a day!
Eat.
Sleep.
